| Portraits, ideally, should be worked from life, usually taking about 6 hours to model. However, it is also possible to work from good photos taken from all angles. My 2007 portrait of Douglas Clark was based on archive photographs, taken at different ages and angles, using one iconic image of him as my primary reference. Another variation is the cameo, a low relief suitable for wall-mounting. | |
